Play the songs you love

Six beats. Six styles. Hundreds of songs.

Most songs you hear on the radio are built on a handful of grooves. Learn one solid beat from each of these styles and you'll start hearing them everywhere.

Beat 1

Rock

The backbone of classic rock radio. Steady, driving, and so fun to play loud.

Beat 2

Pop

Clean and catchy. The groove under the songs everybody sings along to.

Beat 3

Blues

That laid-back swing feel. Relax into it and let the music breathe.

Beat 4

R&B / Soul

Smooth and in the pocket. Less about speed, all about feel.

Beat 5

Country

Bouncy, toe-tapping, and way more fun than you'd expect.

Beat 6

Funk & Disco

Get people moving. This one puts a grin on your face every time.

Hey, I'm Meshem!

I've been teaching drums for over 20 years. I'm a percussion department chair, and I still play in original and cover bands and in local theater pits. My favorite students are adults who always wanted to play, or used to play and got stuck. I'll get you playing the music you love without the frustration.

Questions

The quick answers.

Is it really free?

Yep! All four live sessions and the replays are free.

Do I need a drum kit?

Yes. You'll be playing along live, so you'll need a kit (acoustic or electronic) and a pair of sticks.

I'm a total beginner. Is that OK?

Absolutely. We start simple and build one limb at a time. If you've drummed before and got stuck, you're in the right place too.

What if I miss a live session?

No stress. The replay goes out by email, and the practice prompts help you catch up before the next one.

How do I join the live sessions?

On Google Meet. Same link for all four, sent to your inbox. A laptop or tablet set up where you can see it from your throne works best.

What time is it in my time zone?

8 PM Pacific = 9 PM Mountain = 10 PM Central = 11 PM Eastern.

6 drum beats in 7 days. Play along to almost any song!
